A man is absolutely sure that the accumulator he is placing on this weekend’s football will be the one that finally comes good, it has emerged.
Garry Thornton, 35, from Stevenage, has been steadily refining his technique in order to defeat long-odds once and for all.
Mr Thornton said: “This is the one. I can feel it. I’ve been so close recently.
“I nearly won a twelve-fold last week – all I needed were a couple of results to go my way and if a couple of the other scores had stayed the same too, I’d have won!”
Oxford University’s Mathematics lecturer Anthony Waleran reviewed the case and confirmed, “….if the two results went Garry’s way this weekend he would have indeed have won the bet. However, they didn’t, therefore no one gives a f*ck. So stop posting it on Facebook.”
