Pep Guardiola is set to select a cardboard cut-out propped against the goal post in goal for Manchester City’s next game rather than pick Claudio Bravo, it has emerged.
Claudio Bravo has found life in Manchester particularly difficult since his summer transfer from Barcelona. The last 24 shots Bravo has faced have somehow resulted in 36 goals. Even Connor Wickham managed to score a Premier League goal for the first time since anyone can remember.
With a shot to save ratio like that, it is little wonder that Pep Guardiola is willing to take his chances on an inanimate object between the sticks.
“It can’t be any worse, can it? At least the cut-out won’t jump out of the way/punch the ball into our own net.”
Joe Hart is even beginning to be remembered fondly, which tells you just how desperate the situation at City has become.
