Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, believes the Premier League trophy should be handed to Arsenal immediately due to Olivier Giroud’s outrageous goal against Crystal Palace, it has emerged.
The Arsenal striker scored with an overhead-backheel that left the football world flabbergasted in Arsenal’s 2-0 Premier League win yesterday.
The Arsenal manager said: “If you don’t win the Premier League trophy for that then what do you have to do to win it?”
Giroud said: “It was definitely deliberate! A lot of people are saying that I just stuck my leg out in hope rather than expectation, but that’s crap. At Arsenal we spend most of the week practicing overhead-backheels and taking selfies.
“I see some people saying Mkhitaryan’s goal was better, but I think that’s because of how bad the football has been at Old Trafford for the last 3 years.”
Wenger added: “Alexis Sanchez’s dummy-goal against West Ham was magnificent. Come to think of it, my team has made an overwhelming contribution to the quality of the Premier League this season. The FA should review and rectify this situation with a points addition to award us the league.
“Would the goal make a good statue outside the Emirates? Certainly – plus he is gorgeous, so that certainly helps his cause.
“Will the fans be happy with the cost of a statue? I think so, yes – we do not need to spend in January.”
