Jordan Henderson has claimed that Ross Barkley assured him that his horrific tackle was an “accident” and “won’t ever happen again.”
Henderson said: “I know Ross’ tackle looked really bad, but he’s really not a bad guy – he’s just misunderstood.”
“Most of the time he’s great and really nice and kind and funny, just sometimes he oversteps the mark.”
“To be honest, I bring it on myself; it’s my own fault. I make him angry am leave him no choice but to make a studs-first lunging tackle around my shin.
“He’s assured me that it won’t ever happen again and that he’s going to change.”
“I know he’s said it before, but I think he really means it this time. He’s said he’s going to get professional help and everything.”
Henderson’s leg should be recovered in time for Liverpool’s next game, along with the black eye he sustained “walking into a door.”
